Dan & Bonnie Brown
Co-Founders, Billing Specialists, Inc. & Medical Administrative Services
Husband and wife team, Dan and Bonnie Brown, founded BSI in 1992, establishing a culture centered on providing exceptional revenue cycle management and comprehensive billing services for individual physicians, group practices and hospitals throughout Arkansas.
Prior to launching their joint venture, Dan served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy and held several private sector roles within the human resource management industry. Bonnie spent many years honing her skills as she worked her way through the legal, banking, hospital administration and business management fields. Together, their combined talents and expertise formed the perfect foundation necessary to succeed in the medical billing industry.
Outside of BSI, Bonnie had a special interest in community engagement, and was active in many educational, municipal, and public service causes. Bonnie was the founder/coordinator of the Partners in Education Volunteer Program. She was elected to the Mountain Home School Board and Baxter County Quorum Court, where she served many years. Additionally, she served on the respective boards of the Peitz Cancer House, Serenity Women’s Shelter, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and our local Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter, where she was instrumental in granting wishes for children with critical illnesses.
From data entry, coding and claim submission to payment processing, statement cycles and reporting, the Browns developed BSI into an all-encompassing solution for simplifying the back office needs of healthcare providers and facilities. Though many companies nominally offer similar services, BSI has a proven track record of professionalism, experience, and results.
Kirk Brown, JD, MBA, CPC
Kirk is an Arkansas-licensed attorney who received his law degree and a concurrent Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis. Always seeking new opportunities to learn and challenge himself, Kirk continued his post-collegiate education by earning his Certified Professional Coder certification. His highly specialized combination of regulatory acumen, medical coding expertise and healthcare industry knowledge makes Kirk uniquely qualified to serve in his role.
Since joining the family business in 2013, Kirk has been responsible for managing day to day operations at BSI, as well as at our sister company MAS, which employs 25+ certified coding and billing specialists. He is driven by the desire to help medical practices of all kinds improve their long-term financial outcomes through smart billing solutions and detail-oriented reimbursement compliance.
Kirk’s commitment to the community extends to his service as a board member for the Mruk Family Education Center on Aging and Donald W. Reynolds Library Advisory Board.
Kerri Hall, CHC
Director of Business Development & Compliance
Healthcare compliance is an ever-shifting landscape, and Kerri is responsible for keeping BSI ahead of the curve. In addition to being Certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Compliance Certification Board, she has a Bachelor of Science in organizational management from John Brown University.
Since joining the BSI team in 2005, Kerri has been pivotal to the company’s growth and success. With two decades of healthcare experience under her belt, she plays an influential role in several different areas of operation. Externally, Kerri partners with hospital administration, group practices and individual providers to implement appropriate revenue cycle policies and procedures. Internally, she oversees business development, client relations, coordinates software integrations, and oversees provider enrollment for our credentialing clients. As compliance director, she keeps our staff well-trained and our clients highly protected by ensuring our own policies and procedures are streamlined and current.
Director of Human Resources & Radiology Accounts Manager
Jenny holds a degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas with a concentration in human resource management. She has 15+ years of medical billing experience. Since joining the BSI family in 2009, Jenny’s deft ability to stay organized and level-headed when challenges arise has made her the go-to problem-solver for the BSI team.
Jenny serves as account manager for multiple radiology practices, working closely with the facility’s office managers. Over the course of her career with BSI, she has expanded her purview to include credentialing, revenue cycle management, as well as accounts payable.
Jenny utilizes a similar zen-like approach to managing our own organizational challenges, from conflict resolution to career development. Her immense talent for matching needs of business with employees’ innate abilities has been a driving force in helping BSI grow its operational reach, strengthen internal teamwork, and retain experienced, motivated employees.
Ann Wooten, CPC, CANPC
Ann is a Certified Professional Coder and Certified Anesthesia and Pain Management Coder with 25+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry. She has been a member of the BSI team since 1999. Ann is active in her local AAPC chapter and regularly attends seminars to continue her coding education and stay current on issues that impact the billing industry. Ann’s vast expertise has made her a valuable asset to both our company and the larger industry we serve.
As a Certified Coder and account manager, Ann’s primary focus is helping our clients maintain compliant coding and billing practices. She readily shares her extensive knowledge across multiple specialties with providers and administrators. When investigating denials, Ann’s tenacity and attention to detail ensure our clients recognize maximum reimbursement and maintain current A/R.

Betty is a Certified Professional Coder and Certified Medical Auditor with a decade of experience under her belt. Her training, vast knowledge base, and strong skill set have made her a valuable member of the BSI team since 2016. Her extreme diligence and attention to detail makes her a cut above the rest.
Serving BSI as a Certified Coder, Certified Auditor, and Account Manager, her adaptability helps her to navigate the ever-changing world of medical billing with ease. Betty works closely with providers and their staff to ensure all details are taken care of, providing the consistent, caring service our clients appreciate.
Radiology Payment Manager
Emily joined the BSI team in 2017 as a payment processor. She now serves as payment supervisor for our radiology practices. Her previous work in customer service has prepared her to successfully lead our payment team and navigate the ever-evolving world of medical billing.
As payment supervisor, Emily coordinates with her team to diligently work claim denials, collections, appeals, as well as Worker’s Compensation and MVA claims processing. She has a tenacious spirit that serves our team well while dealing with various insurance companies and their numerous requirements on behalf of our clients.
